In 1963, Massachusetts' Area 30 (eastern MA) and Area 31 (western MA) decided to host a state-wide convention to foster unity, service, and recovery across Massachusetts.
A joint committee, composed of members from each Area, selected a site, developed a program and, with Al-Anon participation, hosted the first Mass State Convention (MSC). Today, the convention is hosted roughly the same way, albeit with modern-day amenities and accommodations. This years’ 60th annual Mass State Convention is November 8-10 at the Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel in Marlboro. Please join us!
Convention Planning Committee
Each year, Areas 30 and 31 form a joint convention planning committee to:
Reserve a host site for the convention.
Develop and schedule a 3-day program.
Publish information about the convention.
Recruit people to help at the convention.
Conduct local outreach to AA & Al-Anon.
Engage other AA groups and committees.
Collaborate on issues, ideas and finances.
To learn more, attend a planning committee meeting (shown on the home page).
